Coole Pilate Leisure Area to Nantwich (Shropshire Union Canal)

This way to the Secret Bunker
We are on the move again today and it was a lovely sunny day as we set off along the canal to Hack Green Locks.  Nearby is Hack Green Secret Nuclear Bunker which would have been home to the select few in the event of a nuclear strike.  Now it is a tourist attraction. We visited it the last time we were here so gave it a miss today.
In Hack Green Locks

In Hack Green Bottom Lock
There are two locks here at Hack Green and there was a couple of boats in front of us and a couple coming up, so we had a short wait and then it was our turn.

Jersey Herd by the Canal
Through the first one and onto the second lock and it didn’t take too long to get through there and we were on our way again.

Lovely Morning on the Canal
After a couple of miles, we were at Nantwich and moored up in the visitor moorings.  We had lunch then went out for a walk along the towpath to do some geo-caching.  There was several along the towpath and I am pleased to say we found them all!

We then walked off the towpath and into the town a different way to the way we usually walk.  We walked through the town and back out to the canal, so a nice circular walk.

We are staying here tonight and also tomorrow, then off again on Wednesday.
