Under A Bridge We Go |
|
Coming to Armitage Tunnel |
|
Nearly Through |
It was very
windy this morning but not raining so we decided to move a couple of miles as
the forecast for Sunday is rain for most of the day so we would rather move when
its dry but windy so we went and said bye to Ruth and Peter who are heading the
opposite way to us as they are making their way back to Gloucester. It was really nice to see them and hopefully our
paths will cross next year and we can meet up again.

Armitage Tunnel & Road Bridge |
We
untied and set off along the canal under a couple of bridges, then stopped at the
water point to fill up.
|
Leaves on the Water |
Once
the tank was full, we set off again through Armitage tunnel which doesn't have
a roof, past the Plum Pudding, the lovely Italian restaurant where we have had
some excellent food and on through another narrow bit, under a couple more
bridges and we moored up just before the Armitage toilet factory where there is
a path up to the local shops.

The Plum Pudding |
|
Handsacre Church |
We
had lunch then went out for a walk, it was very windy but dry and very
warm. We followed the path up to the
main road and walked up to the Butchers/Bakers and got a few things, then
walked back to the boat, dropped off our shopping then took the footpath the
other way and it came out by the bridge we had gone under earlier today.
|
All Ready for Harvest |
We
walked along the towpath and came to the Plum Pudding so we crossed the bridge and
went in for a drink, it is such a nice place and they are all so friendly.
We
then walked back up the road and called in to Handsacre Church as not sure if we have been in there before, it is a really nice church and all decked out for harvest festival. We then went back down the footpath and back to the boat.
We
are staying here tonight and possibly tomorrow depending on the weather.
