Kev's Brunch
My Brunch
Hinckley is a nice town with a good variety of shops and a market three days a week.  We walked to the Sainsburys as we needed to pick up a parcel from the Argos.  The Sainsburys is in a small shopping complex where there is a cinema and a few bars and restaurants.  The Taro Lounge looked nice so we went in for brunch, the food was really good and the staff very friendly.  It was dog friendly and the dogs had their own bowls, water and biscuits, how nice is that!

Dog Station
We then wandered around the shops and the market, there is a really good fruit and veg shop where we stocked up.  We then walked out to the Lidl and Tesco which is about half a mile from the town centre and on the way stopped off at a hall where they were having a coffee morning for the rainbow hospice charity.

We got all our shopping then got the bus back and walked down the hill and back to the boat.  We then just chilled out.

Saturday 11th August

Off We Go
We are on the move today but before we leave this area, we had to have one more visit to Tomlinson’s farm shop, so we walked down there and got a few more things.

Lovely Sunny Morning
Moored at the Ashby Boat Company
Lots of Ducks Today
We needed to get gas and diesel so we untied and stopped just under the bridge at the Ashby Boat Company, it is a hire base, they are really friendly and helpful, its a really good place.  We filled up with diesel, got a new gas bottle and also filled up with water, emptied the elsan and got rid of the rubbish, full house for us today!

We then chugged off along the canal for a few miles and moored up opposite Trinity marina.  We then walked down the road to the Aldi.

Passing the Brewers Fayre
After we got our shopping and were back at the boat, we decided to move on a mile or so to Bridge 15 where we moored on the way up.  There was a space just past the water point so we tied up there and now we are back in Warwickshire.

Under We Go
There was a hire boat at the end of the moorings and when a boat went past, it pulled out their pins and they were across the canal.  On board were some teenagers and their grandmother, their parents had gone for a walk.  None of them knew what to do, so we helped them, Kev got on board and started up the engine and together we got it back to the side, the parents turned up then and we helped them tie up, they were very grateful for our help, but that’s what its all about, helping each other.

In the evening we had rain and quite heavy but we were inside, so we didn't worry.  We are staying here tonight and moving on tomorrow.
