Coole Pilate Leisure Area to Audlem (Shropshire Union Canal)

Lots of wildlife on the Shroppie

We are moving on today but only to the bottom of the locks at Audlem which is less than two miles!
The sun was shining so we set off along the canal, there are lots of ducks, Geese and Swans on this stretch.

We chugged on and soon we were approaching Audlem and moored up below the locks in a nice open area.
Dave, Malc, Kev & Harry

Our friends Jane and Malcolm live in Audlem and Dave and Anthea live nearby so we are meeting up with them this afternoon, we can’t wait to see them and also meet Jane and Malcolm’s new addition to the family, Harry a three month old Jack Russell, really looking forward to meeting him!

We walked up the towpath and found our way to Jane and Malcolm’s house.  It was so lovely to see them all and Harry is adorable, we wanted to take him home with us, but I don’t think we will get out the door with him!  We had a lovely afternoon catching up.

Audlem Family Together Again!
Jane had booked a table at a pub, The Combermere in a village a short drive away, so we went there early evening.  It was a really nice place and we had a lovely meal and evening, it was a lot of fun as always.
Malcolm dropped us back at the canal after the meal and we walked back down the towpath to where we were moored.

It was so nice to see Jane, Malcolm, Dave and Anthea again and spend time together and of course to meet Harry.  They are all coming to tea at our boat on Wednesday so really looking forward to that as we are staying around here for a few days now.
