Cholmondeston (Middlewich Branch) to Hurleston Junction (Shropshire Union Canal)

Approaching Barbridge Junction
About to turn onto the Shroppie

When we got up this morning it was raining, so we waited for it to stop which it did and the sun came out so then we set off along the canal.  We are going just a couple or so miles today to Hurleston Junction which is the junction with the Llangollen Canal.

The sun was out and it was very warm as we chugged on along the canal and soon we were approaching Barbridge Junction.  When we got to the Junction we turned left onto the Shropshire Union Canal and stopped to get water just up from the junction.

Passing The Olde Barbridge Inn
We then chugged on past The Olde Barbridge Inn which is a nice pub but we are not stopping here today.  We went on for another mile or so then moored up just before the Junction.

I think he's been exterminated!!
We had lunch then went for a walk up onto the Llangollen canal, up the four locks we went and on along the towpath  to Bridge 3 and then took the footpath through the fields and eventually we came to Snugburys Ice-Cream farm.  They have a sculpture in one of the fields every year and last year it was a Dalek, the remains were still there but it looked like it had been exterminated!
Me and Peter Rabbit

Ice-Cream Shop
We walked on and then we saw a huge Peter Rabbit in the field which has been done this year to celebrate 150 years since Beatrice Potter was born.

Signs at Ice-Cream Farm
We then went into the ice-cream shop where there was lots of different flavoured ice-cream.  We both had a double cone once we had decided which flavours we wanted, it did take a while!
Wow, the Rabbits are bit around here!!

We then sat outside in the sunshine and ate them and I must say it was delicious!!

Yum Yum!!
Walking back down the locks
We then walked back to the canal via the road which was a lot quicker but it was nice to do a circular walk and on the way back we found a farm selling free range eggs so that was a bonus.  We walked back down the locks and then sat on a bench at the junction and watched the boats for a bit.  At times it was quite chaotic but quite fun to watch.

We are staying here tonight and then chugging onto Nantwich tomorrow.
