Walking down the Droitwich Canal |

Droitwich |
We are staying put today so decided to walk down to
Droitwich. It was a lovely sunny warm
day so we set off down the Droitwich canal, it is a really nice walk past the
deep locks and following the canal you come to Vine Park, we chilled out there
for a while and watched a boat come through the lock and the swing bridges,
then walked on into the town. It is a
nice town with a selection of shops and cafes. We had a wander around, then
went for a coffee and got a few supplies in the Waitrose then strolled back up
the canal to the boat. Near the bridge
where we are moored, there is a house down the lane that sells eggs and last
year also had vegetables and some delicious damson jam, so we walked down there
to see if the lady had anymore.
Unfortunately she didn’t have any jam or veg but there was some nice
fresh eggs, so we bought some.
We just chilled out for the rest of the day.

May
The weather was overcast when we got up and it was spitting
with rain, we wanted to start how we mean to go on not traveling in the rain
if we can help it, so we decided to stay put again today and chug off tomorrow
when the forecast is better. We just chilled out for the morning, then decided
to go to the pub again for lunch, so we went up and it was really busy. We decided not to have the carvery today, but
try something from the main menu. Kev
had the home made steak and ale pie. With most of the main courses, you could
have the 14 vegetables from the carvery,
so guess what Kev had with his pie, he was in his element with all that
veg!. I had the gammon steak with chips
and salad, it was all really good and the pie was just full of meat. We only had room for ice cream after. Suitably full, we waddled back to the boat
and chilled out for the rest of the day.
We are moving on tomorrow, so lets hope the sun is shining!
Glad to see Kev's getting his 5 a day with all that veg !! Haha
