Winter around Gnosall and Wheaton Aston (Shropshire Union Canal)

Gnosall Church
Gnosall Lock Up Sign
We have been chugging on the stretch between Wheaton Aston and Gnosall and Kev has also gone a little further up to Norbury Junction.

Gnosall Lock Up
Gnosall Broadway
It has been good so far, I have been going to work in the week but at the weekends we have been out walking doing some caches around the villages and we came across parts of the villages we haven't been to before.

Info Board
In Gnosall there is a lock up which dates from the 18th Century and was used to put naughty people in.  I think the Council wanted to knock it down but in 1991 the WI saved it and relocated it to where it is today.  There was a cache right by it. There is also a nice church.

Light Snow Shower at Gnosall
Singing Reindeer!
Also in Gnosall there is a nice walk called the Broadway, unfortunately it was burnt down by some lovely individual but was rebuilt in 2012 and is a really nice place to walk.

We had a bit of snow back in November when we were at Gnosall but it didn't last for long.

Sunset at Wheaton Aston
We also had a day trip to Birmingham Christmas German Market which was really good and they had a singing Reindeer on top of the one of the stalls singing Carols!

We are now moored at Wheaton Aston and we have proper snow here and the forecast for tomorrow is for more heavy snow!
Snowy Wheaton Aston

We are enjoying our Winter up here on the narrows, the canal hasn't frozen yet but I am sure it will at some point.  We are chugging back up to Gnosall to spend Christmas there.

Happy Christmas to you all, hope you have a great time and also a Good Year and hope 2018 is a good year for us all.
